hiphop hiphop appears as a classic dj setup - two turntables built into a flight case. a custum made dubplate (no sound on it, justoverlapping cuts) is causing the tonearm of the left turntable to continuously jump and slide on the dubplate. the movement is in and against the direction of the rotation and because of that potentially endless. sound is produced solely by the jumping and sliding of the needle on the dubplates surface. the exact movement of the tonearm is picked up by a sensor and replicated with the help of two servo motors on the right tonearm. on this right turntable a sheet of paper is replacing the vinyl and graphite is replacing the needle of the pickup.
