what does a bird know about jetlag? consists of 6 loudspeakers placed upside down and playing back frequencies far below the frequency range of the speaker (1-35hz). in the process an air stream occurs which escapes through a hole in the rearward pole plate. loudspeakers which are actually build to transform electrical signals into soundwaves become silent membrane pumps. the compressed air is adjustable from a single impulse to a continuous stream through different frequencies and thereby triggers prepared ping pong balls sitting on top of the pole plate hole to sound.
